Publisher Deep Silver has given us the very first in-game trailer for Dead Island, a zombie RPG in development by Techland. While the trailer is mostly cinematic with very little actual gameplay, we still can’t help but get excited for what looks like a good zombie game ready to stand out among the hordes of undead. In this new trailer we get introduced to the beautiful vacation island of Banoi, a place of surreal landscapes that is turned ugly as it is overrun by flesh-eating humans.
Dead Island will feature an open world game with a heavy focus on melee combat, character development, and a vast arsenal of fully customizable weapons. After staying dormant for what seemed like forever, the game wowed everyone with a gripping cinematic trailer and has been the recipient of rampant hype ever since. Expect that to ramp up even more with a new trailer in the works for the E3 Expo next month.
Dead Island is set for release this August on the PlayStation 3, PC and 360.
