Deus Ex: Human Revolution Prophecy Reveals Final Fantasy 27 in 2027

If you’re a fan of the Final Fantasy series, and never want to see the end of it, we have some good news and some bad news. The good news is, a poster for Final Fantasy XXVII has been found, indicating a remarkable lifespan for the series. The bad news is, it was predicted in a video game.

A user over at IGN has posted a screenshot from Deus Ex: Human Revolution that reveals a bit of humor on Eidos Montreal’s part. A wall poster found within the game advertises Final Fantasy XXVII (27), with a main character image and all. See for yourself below:

Deus Ex: Human Revolution is set in the year 2027, which is 16 years in the future. For this to translate into real-life, 13 main Final Fantasy titles would need to release within that time span. Given the extremely long development cycles of recent titles such as Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy Versus XIII, I’m calling this extremely unlikely, but it would be interesting to see it translate to the real world nonetheless.
