Konami Demonstrates Powerful New Proprietary Game Engine

During Konami’s press conference today, Hideo Kojima not only announced but demonstrated an impressive new propriety game engine. The game engine is currently known as the “Fox Engine” (Hideo seems to love foxes), and it was demonstrated in a tech demo environment, and it is currently unknown which titles in production will utilize it. However, the demo environment was simply stunning, and displayed both high levels of detail and unbelievable fluidity.

Three screenshots from the Fox Engine technical demonstration are viewable below:

The engine will be used not only for the PlayStation 3, but other gaming devices as well. As a matter of fact, it’ll work strongly in tandem with Konami’s newly announced “Transfarring“, which will be a way to enjoy games on multiple platforms. The Fox Engine opens up a plethora of possibilities for Konami’s upcoming games, and given the announcement of both Metal Gear Solid and Zone of the Enders HD collections today, there’s a probability that a new title from either franchise will play host to this incredible engine.
