Assassin’s Creed Series Isn’t Dead, Revelations To Leave Unanswered Questions

Assassin’s Creed: Revelations is going to be one of the bigger games in the franchise, at least in terms of story. This will be the second game in the franchise to let players control Ezio, Altair, and Desmond. In addition, this will be the last game that Ezio will make an appearance. Although the story may be over for Ezio, the Assassin’s Creed series will continue.

Lead writer for the game, Derby McDevitt, confirmed that although this will be the last game that Ezio will appear in, Desmond’s story will continue. Devitt said,

Well, we wont answer everything because Desmond’s story continues. But fans will definitely know most of the important details of Ezio and Altair’s lives, and how they fit into the grand scheme.

Devitt also teased about whether Ezio will survive the game’s plot. In Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, Ezio will be 52 years old, and that is quite old for 1511 AD.

52 is a good age, but one must remember that Ezio and Altair are rather special people. Also, although 52 was old in the 1500s, it wasn’t uncommon for people to live for quite a long time. Suleimon the Magnificent lived to around 70, and one Janissary [Sultan’s bodyguard] that we found lived to be 104.

Suleimon was the ruler of the Ottoman empire starting in 1520 AD. Fans of the Assassin’s Creed series will know that Ubisoft likes to tie in a lot of history to their games. It has been previously confirmed, that Assassin’s Creed III will introduce a new ancestor from Desmond’s past to replace Ezio. Devitt concluded his statement’s on Ezio’s fate by saying,

hardcore fans know the logic of the Animus prevents us from seeing certain things in a character’s life – but we also know how to pull a few devious tricks. Just wait and see.

Gamers can find out the fate of Ezio on November 15th.
