Mass Effect 3 Demo Coming February 14th to PSN, Xbox Live & PC

Good news, Mass Effect fans: the demo for Mass Effect 3 will arrive in the not-too-distant future and allow for a sampling of both the game’s single player and co-op multiplayer modes.

BioWare has announced that the demo will arrive on February 14th for PlayStation Network, Xbox Live and PC. The single player portion of the demo contains the game’s opening, which features a Reaper attack on Earth, as well as a level further into the game where Shepard is looking for assistance for the war effort on an alien homeworld. BioWare estimates that this will provide 1-2 hours of content.

The co-op portion of the demo will be made available to those who redeemed their Battlefield 3 Online Passes on February 14th, while it will unlock for everyone else on February 17th. It includes two maps: Slums and Noveria. The multiplayer section of the demo will be deactivated March 5th.

All six classes are available to choose from in the demo: Soldier, Vanguard, Sentinel, Engineer, Infiltrator and Adept. Gamers can create a male or female Shepard, customize his/her appearance, and level up his/her abilities.

The Action, Role-Playing, or Story settings for the player experience will be available to select from in the demo.

The demo does not import saves from ME2 or create a save for the full version of ME3.

As previously announced by EA, playing the ME3 demo will unlock items in the full game of Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning. Playing through the KOA:R demo will also unlock items for its full game and Mass Effect 3‘s full game as well.

Mass Effect 3 will arrive for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC on March 6th.
