A new free-to-play puzzle game, Treasures of Montezuma Blitz, is available now on the PSN for PlayStation Vita.
On the PS Blog, Alawar Entertainment Product Manager Polina Belavskaya says that ToM has actually been around for years with its “Match 3” gameplay, but that each version of the game has added new challenge and power-ups. With the Vita version, Alawar wanted to make sure that the game was fresh, new, and fun.
Belavskaya says that although being a freemium-or-free to play game, players won’t have to spend money to have a competitive edge. Players can earn power-ups by playing the game a lot or by purchasing power-ups as well. In this way, Belavskaya says that the game respects players who have time to invest in the game and also players who don’t have as much time to play by allowing them to unlock power-ups by spending a little bit of money.
