YouTube App Announced For PS Vita

Easily one of the most requested features for the Vita, next to PSone playback and proper remote play, a huge number of people have been pining for a YouTube app (or a 21st century browser). If you’re one of those Vita owners, then good news – a YouTube app is coming.

Coming at the end of June, YouTube will be available as a free downloadable application for PS Vita. You will be able to search for videos, choose favorites and make comments, and log in to your personal YouTube account. There’s no word on whether it will stream videos if you’re on 3G only, but presumably it will.

This news adds to the growing list of announcements Sony has made just before E3 that would have been perfect for the event (for example, Microsoft spent several minutes showing off YouTube on 360 last year). Here’s hoping that it’s indicative of a big surprise.
