The Unfinished Swan Coming October 23rd, 1 Week Earlier For PlayStation Plus

The Unfinished Swan is easily one of the most anticipated PSN games to come out this year – we even called it ‘an excellent example of a game as art‘ – so we can’t wait to get our hands on it. Developer Giant Sparrow has announced that it will be releasing on Tuesday, October 23rd in the US and a day later in Europe.

No pricing was revealed at this time, but $15 is a safe bet, and PlayStation Plus members will receive one week early access to the game on October 16th. Again, no pricing or discounts for PS+ was given, so we’ll update you when we know.

If you’re unfamiliar with The Unfinished Swan, it is a first-person painting game that follows a young boy named Monroe after his mother has passed away. The only thing she left him was a painting of an unfinished swan, which then jumps out of the painting and leads him on a journey through a fantastical world, with painting Monroe it as he goes along.

In the first of the planned developer diaries for the game, Ian Dallas, Joshua Sarfaty, and Max Geiger of Giant Sparrow walk us through the production and they even tell us the interesting story of how it became a PSN exclusive title.
