It’s a sad but unavoidable truth that one day, the online servers for your favorite games that you haven’t played in a couple of years will be shutdown. The latest titles to be added to the growing list are all from EA, with the majority of them released in 2010.
Each of the servers will go offline on January 11th for the following games and ultimate teams:
FIFA 11
FIFA 11 Ultimate Team
Madden NFL 11
Madden NFL 11 Ultimate Team
NBA JAM
NBA LIVE 10
NCAA Football 11
NHL 11
NHL 11 Ultimate Team
In case you’re wondering, NBA Jam: On Fire Edition, which just became free on PlayStation Plus, won’t be going offline in January. They are just referring to the 2010 retail release of NBA Jam.
So, the next time you’re in a GameStop and see 20 copies of the games used for $.99 each, remember that you won’t be able to play them online at all.
