New Details, and 25 Sub-par Screenshots Released for Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD Remix

Square Enix has released 24 silky smooth screenshots of (the thus far Japanese PS3 exclusive) Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD Remix. The only problem is that the images aren’t actually HD, which sort of defeats the purpose of screenshots (especially for an HD re-rendering such as this).

Nevertheless, they’re still entertaining to flip through, plus we have some interesting new details to help salvage these substandard screenshots:

  • The more highly detailed character models from Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance will be used throughout the game, in lieu of upgraded Kingdom Hearts models.
  • The plainer text cutscenes will be fully voiced. Additionally, the cutscenes are being remastered for “more expressive” choreography.
  • The combat, and camera are being retooled. One example of combat improvements comes in the form of Kingdom Hearts 2s combo master making its way into HD 1.5 Remix.

Square Enix is releasing Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD Remix March 14th in Japan, and the cutscenes have English voice acting.

Are you going to import Kingdom Hearts HD, wait for a potential North American release, or is Square’s Disney-dominated RPG not quite your cup of tea?
