Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Nearing Completion, 80 to 90 Percent Finished

The original Kingdom Hearts is getting a proper HD release thanks to the upcoming launch of Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix, which bundles the first game along with a couple of portable spinoffs in a neat single HD package.

According to a report from Famitsu, it looks like the highly anticipated collection is nearing completion, so hopefully those of us in the west don’t have too much longer to wait. Kingdom Hearts co-director Tai Yause told the outlet that the game is approximately 80-90% complete.

The HD collection is set to launch in Japan next year exclusively for the PlayStation 3. Considering the game’s popularity outside of the region, it’s safe to assume that it’s only a matter of time before it sees a western release.

I don’t know about you, but I’m pretty bummed that it doesn’t include Kingdom Hearts II as well. It’s pretty clear that Square is planning to launch a second collection with the sequel, and I really hope Birth by Sleep is included in the package as well.
