Stunning New Square Enix PS5 RPGs Get 2026 Release Dates

Square Enix fans are in for a treat as the publisher showcased three new PS5 RPGs yesterday, two of which have 2026 release dates. Both Final Fantasy Resonance and Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World will release later this year, but unfortunately, Kingdom Hearts 4 is still without a release window.

PS5 RPGs Final Fantasy Resonance & Dragon Quest Monsters out in packed fall 2026

HD-2D RPG Final Fantasy Resonance will release on October 22. The game’s standard edition will cost $49.99, and its digital deluxe edition will cost $59.99.

“Return to the pixel‑art world of Final Fantasy, evolved from its classic roots,” an overview reads. “Travel with companions bound by fate and call on Visions to aid you in battle to uncover the truth behind a force that threatens to bring everything to ruin.”

Then, we have the previously announced Dragon Quest Monsters, which now has a release date of December 3, 2026. It’s a tad more expensive than Final Fantasy Resonance, with the standard version costing $59.99 and the digital deluxe edition costing $94.99.

“In this RPG, you befriend monsters from the Dragon Quest series, raise them up, synthesize new creatures, and pit them against other monsters in battle,” an overview reads.

As far as Kingdom Hearts IV is concerned, while we didn’t get the release date we were hoping for, here’s a new trailer:

“Kingdom Hearts IV follows protagonist Sora and some familiar characters as they journey through the mysterious city of Quadratum,” says Square Enix. “Sora will once again journey to various worlds, where new figures cross his path and new powers awaken in this next chapter. More details about the game will be revealed in the future.”

For now, you can (re)play Kingdom Hearts 1-3.
