Hope is Drowning in New Dead Island: Riptide Trailer

Techland and Deep Silver have released a new trailer for Dead Island: Riptide, the sequel to the 2011 zombie action-RPG Dead Island. The trailer reveals that the survivors from the first game weren’t as safe as they thought – their getaway ship has become compromised, causing them to get stranded on the island of Palanai, which, in addition to its tropical setting, is also home to plenty of zombies.

The trailer makes it clear that vehicles will be returning as well as a variety of guns and other weapons to take down the hordes of zombies. In addition to some gameplay, the trailer also introduces a new protagonist, John Morgan. He is a former soldier that was part of a massive search and rescue mission which, from the sound of it, went horribly wrong.

Dead Island: Riptide is set to release on April 23rd in North America and on April 26th in Europe.
