Snake’s Voice Actor in Metal Gear Solid V is Kiefer Sutherland, Tagline is Tactical Espionage Operations

Despite a fan petition to change it, David Hayter won’t be returning as the voice of Snake in Metal Gear Solid V, being replaced by Kiefer Sutherland (24, Touch) instead. Unlike what they’ve done previously when it comes Metal Gear Solid V, Hideo Kojima and Konami weren’t trolling us with this announcement, so maybe this means they’re done now?

During this reveal, Hideo Kojima said that, because the game deals with themes such as race and revenge, it makes the tone darker and he wanted Snake to have a more “subdued performance.” Also, since Snake is 49 years old, he wanted someone who “could genuinely convey both the facial and vocal qualities of a man in his late 40s.”

As it turns out Avi Arad, Producer, introduced Hideo to the concept of choosing Kiefer Sutherland, who Kojima calls the “perfect fit” in terms of age and performance.

If any other interesting news is revealed during the Konami pre-E3 event, we’ll be sure to let you know about it.
