Dan: I remember when we hit our 100th Daily Reaction – I thought we would probably find an end point to this insanity shortly after, especially given that we started the whole thing with a short lived series of webcomics (1, 2, 3). Goddamn I was wrong.
Today we’ve reached 200, a milestone that most readers probably won’t appreciate, given that it just seems like normal content that is uploaded every day on any ol’ website. But, the complexity and amount of work that needs to go into every episode rivals and even surpasses the standard editorial that most sites do at most once a week, while we do ours every weekday.
Seb: Yeah… oh man, 200. Each one of these things takes several hours, and averages about 1500-2000 words. That’s more than most books when put together. That’s also 200 late evenings/early mornings I’ve spent with Dan Oravasaari, instead of doing something with my life.
A lot of the effort and work actually goes into simply coming up with good topic ideas. If you’ve read my work, you know I hate cheap articles, and easy posts that don’t really say anything, so the whole aim with DR was to provide quality content every single day. The problem is, some days don’t have much news, or have news DR already predicted, so we’ve been forced to try to work out what to do that’s still interesting. And we’ve been forced to do that 200 times. In a row.
Woo, I’m so happy we’ve reached 200.
