The Last Guardian is “on Hiatus,” Confirms Jack Tretton (Update: Shuhei Yoshida Says It’s in “Active Development”)

Update: Going in the other direction of what Jack Tretton had said earlier today, Shuhei Yoshida spoke to Kotaku just now and revealed that “the game is in active development. It’s not hiatus at all. But we are not ready to reintroduce it. When we are ready, we will do that. Please wait.”

Original Story: Jack Tretton is having an interview with GT right now, and we’ll have a full write-up for all the interesting details soon, but one thing that stood out has to do with The Last Guardian.

After side-stepping it for some time and saying that projects “never ultimately go away,” Jack finally revealed that The Last Guardian “is certainly not gone away,” but as of right now, the game itself is on hiatus.

He didn’t offer any details past that, so it doesn’t look good for The Last Guardian soon, but it at least isn’t dead.
