Killzone Shadow Fall Director: “The PlayStation 4 Allows us to Add More Things and Take Them a Step Further”

The Killzone Twitter and Facebook accounts tasked fans with asking questions about the E3 demo for Killzone: Shadow Fall, which were answered by Steven ter Heide, Game Director. Sadly, the amount of questions chosen was quite low, with even fewer interesting answers, though Steven did say that “Killzone: Shadow Fall is a shooter that requires both skills and brains,” due to it not just being about “outgunning your enemy,” but also “outmaneuvering and outsmarting them as well.”

On the subject of the PS4 and how it helps to build upon the AI and graphics seen with Killzone 3 on PS3, ter Heide talked about how the new system “allows us to create richer experiences” and “the PlayStation 4 allows us to add more things and take them a step further.” He then continued by adding, “We can, for example, invest in more realistic animations, larger scale, better visual FX and more characters, and reach a higher quality on all of them.”

To finish up, Steven talked about how the PS4 isn’t just about more power, but also “new control methods and features and services that encourage a different kind of interaction with the game and the people around you. In that regard we’re also very excited about Killzone: Shadow Fall’s multiplayer mode, but more on that later…”

That tiny teaser for the multiplayer mode for Shadow Fall may have to hold you over for a little bit, as they haven’t set a date for when we’ll be hearing more about the mysterious online play.
