It’s Canada Day! But I had to work….Oh well.

On the bright side, we’ve decided to expand The Catch-Up a little bit by including links to every single story we’ve published during the day, so at the end of each day, you can easily find everything we’ve done in the past 24 hours.

General News

  • In case you were worried it was only coming to Xbox 360, PEGI has rated Far Cry Classic for PS3, in addition to PC. If the PS3 version is the same as the Xbox 360 one, expect it to release this summer for about $7. [PEGI]
  • A seemingly random tweet from Digital Foundry claims that a new PS3 Super Slim hardware revision will come “with a 28nm RSX… 22nm Cell next year.” Since 2014 is pretty far off, we’ll just have to file this one under far away rumor that could be true. [Twitter]
  • The Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn beta on PS3 and PC has now seen 1 million users sign up. You can expect the full game on August 27th. [Press Release]

  • Amazon.ca has put up a listing for Ducktales Remastered, giving it an August 13th release date. They do list the price as $19.99, but the digital PSN release will be just $14.99. We’ve reached out to Capcom to see if this date is true or not. [Amazon]
  • As part of the latest LittleBigPlanet update, Steven Isbell, LittleBigPlanet Community Coordinator, said, “I can tell you that we have a whole bunch of exciting new packs coming over the next few months and we will likely see Joel and Ellie making an appearance sometime within that madness!” [Source]
  • Atomic Ninjas from Grip Games is “in the final stage of development and soon they will infiltrate your PS3s and Vitas! Stay tuned for the first trailer!” We’ll let you know when a firm date is confirmed. [Source]
  • When Trials Fusion releases on the PS4, you can expect it to look nothing like the original trailer, which was pre-rendered footage. You can expect a futuristic setting, tons of environments and terrains, “wild finishes” for each track, more ways to customize your bike and riders, sharing accomplishments with friends, compete and connect with other people (no matter the platform), and a “bigger and better than ever” level editor. • Prior to releasing in North America on July 9th, Coconut Dodge: Revitalised has passed 35,000 players. Unfortunately, FuturLab isn’t able to track player numbers for Velocity Ultra, but they’ll be fixing that in a future patch. [Twitter 1, 2]
