August 2013 United States Sales Expected to Rise, Saints Row IV Sales Estimated at over 520,000

The NPD will unleash their industry sales data and top 10 best selling games for the month of August this Thursday, September 12th (while the August 2013 PSN sales charts should happen this week, if previous months are any indication), but Cowen and Company has released their estimates for the United States, and they expect the month to be pretty good.

Reporting that console and handheld software will be up 21% compared to August 2012, the firm also believes that total packaged sales, including PC games, are going to be up 18%. The new game releases are a big helper in these positive numbers, with EA announcing the early Madden NFL 25 sales data, and Cowen and Company expecting the following sales data for these titles:

  • Saints Row IV – 522,000
  • Disney Infinity – 225,000
  • Splinter Cell: Blacklist – 209,000
  • Pikmin 3 – 185,000

We’ll be sure to let you know the NPD data for the United States on Thursday.
