In a tweet purely made to spoil our GTAV celebrations with a reminder that the PS4 is still out of reach, Naughty Dog has revealed that they just received 120 PS4 dev kits.
Christophe Balestra, Naughty Dog’s Co-President, Tweeted:
Look at what arrived today at Naughty Dog… 120 more PS4 devkits! #PS4 #naughtydog
Naughty Dog split their studio into two teams after the release of Uncharted 2, with one team working on Uncharted 3, and the other on The Last of Us. The Uncharted 3 team since moved on to a PS4 project (presumably Uncharted 4), after its release at the end of 2011. Part of The Last of Us team is likely involved with early PS4 work, but still has DLC to complete.
The fact that the studio has received this many PS4s is likely an indication that Naughty Dog has progressed past a key stage in development – a promising sign.
So the big question is – is the game Uncharted 4, or a new IP? Share your thoughts below.
