Game of Thrones Game From Telltale Games & HBO is a “Multi-Year, Multi-Title” Partnership

Since the VGX unveiling, Telltale Games’ Game of Thrones has had a bit more information revealed, with the game “targeted” to release in 2014 for “home consoles, PC/Mac, and mobile devices.” They do make sure to note that “specific platform details are yet to be announced.”

What’s very interesting about the Telltale Games and HBO partnership is that it’s a “multi-year, multi-title.” If this means what we think it means, there may be more than one season of Telltale Game’s Game of Thrones.

Telltale Games CEO and Co-Founder Dan Connors had this to say about Game of Thrones:

Since the very beginning, Telltale’s goal has been to work alongside the most talented and respected forces in entertainment, bringing their worlds to the interactive space as no other game studio can. Working with HBO to develop a new game series based on Game of Thrones is a natural fit for our studio. This partnership will create an experience that will captivate the huge, global Game of Thrones audience. It will put them in control of the epic stories of warfare, intrigue, violence and revenge that we know and love.

Josh Goodstadt, Director of Global Licensing at HBO, added:

We’re delighted to be working with Telltale Games, a proven leader in the creation of engaging interactive content. Our fans are always looking for new, exciting ways to engage with the Game of Thrones brand and this game series will put them right in the middle of the action by letting them decide where the story will lead. This brings a whole new dimension to the world of Westeros.

Considering how Telltale Games still has four more episodes of The Wolf Among Us, four episodes of The Walking Dead Season 2, and Tales From the Borderlands slated for release in 2014, there’s always a chance Game of Thrones may miss a 2014 release.
