Minecraft “Is Running” on PS4 and Xbox One, “But There’s a Lot More Work to do”

Originally planned to launch alongside the PlayStation 4, Minecraft for PlayStation platforms was delayed last month, with 4J Studios saying, “We’re hard at work getting Minecraft: PS3 Edition ready for testing just now. The other platforms & TU14 will be later.”

In a status update yesterday, 4J revealed how “we’re still bug fixing Minecraft: PlayStation 3 Edition. The bug list is getting shorter, but we’re not there yet…” When someone asked on Twitter if production had at least started on the PS4 and Xbox One versions, they replied:

The game is running on both Xbox One and PS4, but there’s a lot more work to do on both. No dates for either yet.

With that response, it sounds like we could be waiting a good chunk of time before Minecraft releases for next-gen consoles.

When do you think we’ll see Minecraft for PS3, PS4, and PS Vita? Let us know your guesses in the comments below.
