UK PlayStation Vita Sales Have Been up Over 60% in the Weeks Following PS4 Launch

With the PlayStation 4 having come out in many European countries back on November 29th, MCV (via Videogamer) has reported in their latest issue that PlayStation Vita sales were up 68% during the PS4’s launch week, with the week following up 65%. These numbers are likely just for the UK only, but are impressive nonetheless.

Speaking to the Vitas sales was Ben Law, Senior Product Manager at Sony Computer Entertainment Europe:

PS Vita sales wise we are continuing to see strong week-on-week growth since our latest campaign kicked in. The new TV advert went live this week and we’ve already seen amazing feedback from PS4 owners on the Remote Play feature, and the success of Tearaway highlights what [a] great proposition PS Vita is, either as a standalone device or as the perfect companion to PS4.

While those sales numbers may be only for the UK, Andrew House did reveal that Remote Play has “resonated most in Europe, ahead of anywhere else.”
