Gather ’round, everyone, it’s rumor time!
Just a day after Microsoft had listed The Division with a 2014 release date, Gamereactor is now reporting that an unnamed “member of the development team” over at Ubisoft Massive told them The Division will actually be out in 2015:
The game engine works well, it’s not done, but works well. The actual game development has barely started, however.
The fact that Ubisoft has gone public with a 2014 release date feels laughable to be perfectly honest, we will never be able to release The Division this year. It’s a large project, and we have very far to go.
Since this news comes from just a singular source within Ubisoft Massive, take this as a rumor for now, but with Ubisoft’s recent history of game delays for Watch Dogs, The Crew, South Park: The Stick of Truth, and the revamping of Rainbow 6: Patriots, it’s completely possible.
Considering how busy 2014 is going to be anyways, would you be okay with The Division being pushed back to 2015? Let us know in the comments below.
