DICE Looking to Refine Mirror’s Edge 2’s First-Person Combat

Did you like Mirror’s Edge’s first-person combat mechanics? Regardless of what camp you’re in, DICE is looking to improve that part of the game. This was revealed by DICE General Manager, Karl Magnus Troedsson, who revealed, that the studios looking to “refine” the first-person combat in Mirror’s Edge 2.

What I can say is that if the last game focussed on first-person movement, it was definitely shown in the movie here that the DICE team will be focussing on first-person combat as well, to really nail and refine that.

Troedsson also states that the sequel is not “just going to be the same game as the last one.” and that they’re building Mirror’s Edge protagonist “Faith for a new generation.”

In related news, those looking forward to playing Mirror’s Edge 2 with the Oculus Rift or Project Morpheus will have to wait for quite some time, as Troedsson also thinks that VR support for the franchise would never be a “mass market thing.”

What do you hope they add to ME2’s combat? Let’s hope that whatever refinements the studio implements won’t make people dizzy.
