PS3 Firmware Update 4.66 Out Now, is Mandatory

After going a few months without seeing any updates, the PlayStation 3 received firmware update 4.66 last night, which is mandatory to download before you can access online features.

As you’ve probably guessed by now, this is simply a stability update, with the singular patch note saying:

System software stability during use of some features has been improved.

If you’re unable to download the latest system update through the internet, you’ll need a USB drive and 200MB of free space on your PlayStation 3. Then, head over to the US or UK PlayStation sites to grab the update.

Like always, if you notice anything added or removed with the arrival of this new system software, please let everyone know in the comments below.
