Update:
LittleBigPlanet Community Manager Steven Isbell posted an update today, November 26, about the LittleBigPlanet 3 DLC issues.
Specifically in North America, the PlayStation Store team was “unable to publish all of the missing DLC during yesterday’s PlayStation Store update.” However, they do plan on adding everything by December 16. Check out the big list of missing DLC here.
As for the incompatible DLC listed below (Cross-Controller Pack, Move Pack, and the two level packs), Isbell says they will “require some compatibility updates performed on them before we can release them for LittleBigPlanet 3.” No date was given for an update.
Original Story:
Prior to the launch of LittleBigPlanet 3 (here’s our review) on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 in North America last week, Sumo Digital and Sony confirmed that it would be fully backwards compatible with all the DLC from LittleBigPlanet and LittleBigPlanet 2.
After launch though, people reported that some of the DLC was missing, prompting LittleBigPlanet Community Manager Steven Isbell to say, “We are currently investigating a number of issues relating to LittleBigPlanet DLC and working with the regional PlayStation Store teams to ensure that we can get this content to you in a timely manner.”
Isbell then confirmed everything that’s missing at the moment:
Missing Limited-Time Content
Some players are currently unable to download this content:
- LittleBigPlanet 3 Rare T-Shirt Pack
- Launch Spacesuit Costumes Pack
We’re looking into this issue and will ensure that everyone has a fair opportunity to download the following content before its permanent removal from the PlayStation Store.
Unavailable Content
Due to compatibility reasons with LittleBigPlanet 3, the following add-on content is currently unavailable to download for use in LBP3:
- LittleBigPlanet 2: Cross-Controller Pack
- LittleBigPlanet 2: Move Pack
- Metal Gear Solid Premium Level Pack
- The Muppet’s Premium Level Pack
We are currently working to make this content compatible with LittleBigPlanet 3 in upcoming updates and they will become available to download after these updates go live.
Other Missing Content
We are actively tracking reports of DLC that is either unavailable for purchase or that has previously been purchased but the player is being told to purchase the content again. We are working with the PlayStation Store team to get these items restored to their expected status for all users.
Isbell continued by issuing this warning: “If you have previously purchased content and are being told to purchase it again, please refrain from purchasing this content a second time.” When they manage to resolve the DLC issues, you’ll be able to download the previously purchased content again for free.

LittleBigPlanet 3 will be available later this week in Europe on PS4 and PS3.
