Welcome to PlayStation LifeStyle’s Trophy Guide for the Shadow of Mordor downloadable content Lord of the Hunt! There are 13 new Trophies added to SoM and they are all fairly easy to earn. Most of them can be earned during the main story missions rather easily. The Trophy “The Hunt is my Mistress” can be a bit of a pain, as it is mostly luck based with a speedrun involved. Overall though, you should have no problems getting most of these.
Spoiler Alert: There are spoilers within the guide. If you’re trying to avoid spoilers, it’s recommended that you complete the game before reading any further.
A Short Introduction – Bronze
– Begin a new hunt with Torvin.
This Trophy is story related.

Ghuls Gone Wild – Bronze
– Kill a Graug by dispatching your Ghuls on him.
This can actually be earned in the same mission that teaches you how to brand Ghuls (Hypocritical Oath). After you’ve branded 45 Ghuls, a Graug will spawn. Damage the Graug until it is low on health, then press Down on the D-Pad to “Dispatch” your Ghuls, they will blow up and this damage must be what kills the Graug. You won’t get the Trophy if the Graug is killed by the Ghul attacks, it has to be killed by the exploding Ghuls when you press Down.
Rattle the Hive – Bronze
– Bait 10 Ghul mounds.
The Ghul mounds will be introduced to you via a main story mission. All you have to do is shoot them with an arrow. The mounds are scattered around the map. There are also mounds in some of the main story missions, so, you shouldn’t have a hard time coming across them.
O Mother, Where Art Thou?
– Have 20 Branded Ghuls at one time.
There will be a story mission that introduces you to branding Ghuls. This Trophy can actually be earned in the same mission. You’ll be given an objective to lure out Ghuls and brand them from three different locations. Just keep branding them and at the third location, you’ll have more than enough to earn the Trophy. With at least a five combo built up, press Triangle + Square to brand Ghuls.
I Had To Put Him Down – Bronze
– Kill a Caragrath with an Execution.
First off, you’ll need to mount a Caragrath. Next, find some enemies to fight. Once you’ve found some, dismount the Caragrath and fight the enemies until your combo is at least at five. Once you’ve reached a five combo, use an Execution attack on your Caragrath. Press Triangle + Circle to use the Execution attack.
The Flames Make It Go Faster – Bronze
– Activate the Blazing Steed.
In order to unlock the Blazing Steed ability, you’ll have to beat four Beastmaster side missions. Once you beat four of them, the fifth will unlock. You’ll activate the ability and earn the Trophy during the fifth mission. They are marked on your map as white shield icons.

Shoot the mound, and lure the Matron near the campfire. Next, simply shoot the fire with an arrow to cause and explosion that will catch the Matron on fire.
The Collector – Bronze
– Have a dominated Caragrath, Wretched Graug and Spitter Ghul simultaneously.
You’ll have to progress through the main story until you have killed at least four out of the five Warchiefs before you can brand all three. There is an area near the top of the map that has Caragraths, Ghul mounds and occasionally, a Graug. Fast travel to the Forge Tower in Cab-Gwanath Bluff and just behind it, will be Caragraths and Ghul mounds. A Graug will spawn every now and then, if there isn’t one there, you can use the Advance Time feature until one spawns.
The Hunt is my Mistress – Bronze
– Complete all objectives in the Test of the Wild.
The Test of the Wild is located under the Trial of War menu from the game’s main menu. Making this Trophy even harder is the fact that the spawn locations of the enemies are completely random. This will be a trial and error type Trophy, until you can get a feel for what is going on and develop a strategy that works best for you. You’ll need to quickly interrogate enemies to learn the locations of Captains and Warchiefs. Caragraths can be found pretty frequently, so the monster kills shouldn’t be too much of an issue. There is even a Graug bait hanging from a bridge right near where you start. It can be seen from the Tower you start on. The points are earned by killing enemies. More points can be earned by killing the higher ranked enemies. You can also earn points by completing objectives.
- Kill all five Warchiefs and all 20 Captains.
- Earn 13,000 points.
- Kill 10 Captains with monsters.
- Complete everything in under 40 minutes.
