As part of another Asked & Answered Q&A with the community, Rockstar Games revealed that a tailored version of the Rockstar Editor is coming to Grand Theft Auto V on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with release scheduled for this Summer:
The Rockstar Editor is an advanced tool requiring additional processing power so it would not be compatible with GTAV on the older systems, but we are currently working on a version tailored for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 consoles – and we hope to release that sometime this summer, or as soon as it is ready.
Rockstar says they are also planning to bring The Lab radio station to PS4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360 in a future title update.
Speaking of updates, Rockstar previously mentioned that there might be a point where bringing more updates to the PS3/360 versions of GTAV might not be technically possible and could “cause the risk of instability to the game overall.” Thankfully, they’ve continued to optimize the game on last-gen and the next big content update is planned for all five systems.
While it’s only said to be coming soon, a new Grand Theft Auto Online update will “feature some very cool new toys for you to enjoy and flaunt with your ill-gotten gains.” As for new Heists, Rockstar says they’ve been a tremendous undertaking and it;s not easy to create new ones. They add, “We are, however, working on other cool updates for GTA Online that you can expect over the coming months.”
Unfortunately, the Self Radio feature on PC that plays your mp3s in-game as a radio station won’t be coming to consoles because it “wouldn’t technically be possible on the consoles as it requires more than the consoles allow at this time.”
Elsewhere, Rockstar says they are working on fixing specific exploits like godmode, invisibility, unlimited ammo, and more in GTA Online:
While it’s unrealistic to say we can solve the problem of cheating forever and for everyone, we believe we are making significant progress on this issue and we will continue to work aggressively to stop these griefers in their tracks as best we can.
What do you hope is added to GTA Online in the next update?
