Taiko Drum Master Vita Has 4-Player Action, New Trailer

Bandai Namco Entertainment has released a new trailer (above) and information about upcoming Vita-exclusive rhythm game Taiko no Tatsujin: V Version (or Taiko Drum Master: V Version). The RPG mode “Donda Quest,” which you can see 12 screenshots of right here, seems to be a very big part of this installment.

It’s easy to see why, because up to four players can join the action via ad-hoc mode, so that’s cool for anyone wanting a multiplayer Vita game. A variety of characters will show up along the way, from Bandai Namco games and other franchises. Highlighting the cast are vocaloid IA, Kazuya from Tekken, Adol from Ys, and many more.

Newly revealed cast members are Saul and Gordon from the PS2 game Critical Velocity and new to the song list is “Angel Halo”from Ridge Racer 3D.

The game will come out July 9 in Japan and, as usual for this series, does not have a North American release date. Pre-orders are being taken at import stores, however.
