PlayStation Video Celebrates 20 Years of Play

With today marking the 20th anniversary of PlayStation in North America, Sony has released a new video titled 20 Years of Play: PlayStation’s North America 20th Anniversary. In it, you’ll see archival and game footage chronicling the launches of the PSOne, PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, and PlayStation 4, as well as a look at future games and Project Morpheus.

“The original PlayStation launched on September 9th, 1995 in North America,” the description reads. “From all of us at PlayStation to all of you: Thanks for 20 great years.”

If you’d prefer a fan-made look at PlayStation’s history, Danny Cowan, formerly of Joystiq, created this free documentary that spends an hour diving into the 10 games available at PSOne’s launch, including Battle Arena Toshinden, Rayman, Kileak: The DNA Imperative, and Ridge Racer.
