Following the release of patch 3.1, not to mention a festive event that is likely looming on the horizon, there is perhaps no better time for lapsed Final Fantasy XIV users to return to Eorzea — and Square Enix knows it.
In unveiling a new free login campaign, Square is welcoming back returning players who haven’t jumped into FFXIV for more than 30 days. Should you meet the necessary requirements, the publisher is promising 96 hours of free game time. That’s a four-day window that kicks off when you sign up, rather than a 96 hour timer tailored specifically for you.
It should be noted that this promotional campaign is for returning players only, and you’ll need a valid Square Enix account.
- The free login period begins after logging in via the game launcher using your Square Enix user name and password.
- Including the day on which you first log in, the free login period lasts approximately four days.
- For example, players who log in on December 2, 2015 at 12:00 a.m. can play free of charge until December 5, 2015 at 11:59 p.m.
- However, because the campaign ends on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at 6:59 a.m. (PST), players who begin playing on December 28, 2015 will not be able to play the full ninety-six hours.
Running until December 31, bear in mind that if you claim the offer anytime after December 28, you won’t get the privilege of the four-day window. Further details can be found via Square’s official blog post.
