Bloodborne
Publisher: Sony Computer Entertainment
Developer: FromSoftware
"The PlayStation 4 finally has its exclusive killer RPG. Bloodborne is punishingly hard, but like the Souls series, not unfairly so. If you go into this game accepting of death and the lessons that it imparts on you, then you will have a much better time than if you were to approach the game thinking you were the next Kratos. With a light touch of thankfully, gratefully optional multiplayer options, Bloodborne will be played for years to come. If you see someone with a Platinum trophy for this game, you will know that you are in the presence of a badass gamer.Bloodborne cannot come any more highly recommended for RPG gamers looking for a true challenge."

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
Publisher: CD Projekt
Developer: CD Projekt RED
"The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is truly an incredible masterpiece. The writing and building of the world alone should be lauded as some of the best in video games. Stories weave in and out of one another surprisingly. The consequences of every decision are far reaching and unpredictable while also making complete sense once they happen. The world is organic, dangerous, and fun to explore. There is a true sense of reward and accomplishment. While minor design choices keep it from being absolutely perfect, The Witcher 3 will go down as one of the best games of this generation of consoles."

Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance
Publisher: Nippon Ichi Software
Developer: Nippon Ichi Software
"Sound issues notwithstanding, Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance is the first worthwhile exclusive for Japanese RPG fanatics on PS4. It has everything that made its predecessors great: a fast-paced, addictive battle system, an abundance of content and a cast of humorous characters. The two-dimensional sprites that make up the game’s aesthetic may be traditional, but their detail looks great in HD, and the game’s vivid use of color is eye candy. If you’re a fan of the genre and you’ve been holding off on Sony’s latest console, here’s your excuse to move into the next generation of JRPGs."

Fallout 4
Publisher: Bethesda Softworks
Developer: Bethesda Game Studios
"It’s a bit rough around the edges in some areas and could do with a dab of polish. Regardless of these small faults, the stories told and discovered are fascinating and the Commonwealth is immensely interesting to explore. Performance issues late in the game caused a few frustrations but not enough to dissuade me from playing further and certainly never impeding my progress. Simplifying certain gameplay elements allows for the addition and expansion of others, and while I may not care for the settlement portion of the game, Fallout 4 still has plenty to keep me interested with its countless stories from the wasteland."
