After a leak last month, Rebellion officially announced today that Sniper Elite 4 is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in 2016.
Set in Italy in 1943, Sniper Elite 4 is a third-person stealth action game that follows elite marksman Karl Fairburne, who “must help free Italy from the yoke of Fascism and defeat a terrifying new threat that could halt the Allied fightback in Europe before it’s even begun.”
Running at 1080p on PS4 and Xbox One, Sniper Elite 4 includes a campaign for one to two players, as well as dedicated co-op and adversarial multiplayer modes.
The description adds:
From sun-drenched Mediterranean coastal towns, to colossal Nazi megastructures, daunting forests and giddying mountain monasteries, Sniper Elite 4 will offer breathless emergent stealth action and unrivalled sniping freedom across maps many times the size of those seen in Sniper Elite 3.
Discussing the above trailer, Rebellion Creative Director Jason Kingsley said, “Just to stress, the footage isn’t pre-rendered or taken from cutscenes. What you’re seeing in the trailer is taken from environments you’ll actually be playing in.”
