E3 2016 – NieR: Automata, Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age Gameplay

Taken from the PlayStation Underground E3 2016 livestream, Square Enix showed off some NieR: Automata gameplay, giving you a look at the combat and exploration while the developers offer up some commentary.

Additionally, Square Enix played Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age during their E3 2016 livestream, letting you see how the PlayStation 2 game looks remastered on PlayStation 4:

As for Final Fantasy XII’s new Speed Mode, Square Enix revealed to Kotaku that it lets you speed up the game by either 2x or 4x. Game Director Takashi Katano says 4x is probably best for crossing huge terrains, while 2x is useful for enclosed, crowded spaces like cities and dungeons.

“One feedback we got from fans who played the original Final Fantasy XII was how vast the fields are,” he added. “It took a very long time to get through those fields. So we wanted to make that experience a little more convenient for the user.”

As for the auto-save feature, it will kick in every time you switch maps.

NieR: Automata is scheduled to release in early 2017 for PS4, while Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age will be available in 2017 on PS4.
