PlayStation Access has a new video featuring ten minutes of gameplay of World of Final Fantasy. The gameplay video includes practically everything from the game, including the battle system (hope you enjoy the classic Active Time Battle system!), summoning legacy characters from the Final Fantasy universe, and “imprisming” enemies. Yes, that is imprisming, not “imprisoning.”

World of Final Fantasy is almost a love letter to fans of the early Final Fantasy games. It’s not part of the sequencing of the games, but it takes place in the larger universe with all of the traditionally numbered games. It’s almost like the Dissidia titles in that aspect, except this has its own story and new characters. Two siblings have been thrust into a world called Grimoire that contains all of these FF characters, if everyone was in a chibi-style.
The art style is rather cutesy, suggesting the game is for a younger audience, perhaps as a gateway drug to get them into other or future Final Fantasy games.
World of Final Fantasy will release on PlayStation 4 and Vita on October 25, 2016.
