Lucio Ball Glitch

Blizzard Warns Overwatch Players Not to Exploit Lucioball Glitch

If you’re an avid fan of Lucioball in Overwatch, a new game mode that allows players to compete in a three-on-three ball game with a Rocket League-esque vibe, then chances are you’ve noticed a glitch that allows players to use a different character. The game mode is called “Lucioball” for a specific reason—only Lucio is allowed to play. As with many such bugs, players have found a way to trigger it and therefore exploit it to their advantage. Blizzard is less than pleased.

The developer is aware of the bug, and they are working on a fix to implement as early as this week. That said, however, they have issued a warning to players that Customer Support is on the lookout for Lucio Ball exploiters and will start “taking action” against them. At this time, we have no idea what kind of action this will be.

Game Director Jeff Kaplan issued the following warning on the Battle.net forums:

Apologies for this bug. We’ve attempted to fix it numerous times and have had unrelated issues preventing the fix. We hope to have a fix this week.

In the meantime, we are in discussions with our Customer Support group to start taking action against those deliberately using the bug to play heroes other than Lucio.

Please do not exploit this bug. Fair warning.

Ye all have been warned.
