TT Games has announced that Supergirl will be flying her way into LEGO Dimensions Starter Packs, exclusively for PlayStation 4. Superman’s cousin, Kara Zor-El, will have all her superpowers from the comics, including flight, super strength, x-ray vision, cool breath, and laser eyes, which should make puzzle solving in LEGO Dimensions quite humorous. I hope she and Batman get in all sorts of witty banter. However, that’s not all Supergirl will be able to do; she can don her Red Lantern ring and transform into a Red Lantern, giving her all the abilities a member of the Lantern Corps would have: energy bolts, beams, and build Lantern Constructs.
Unfortunately, Supergirl will only be available in a Starter Pack, meaning she’s only bundled with the game, the portal, and the original three minifigures—Gandalf, Batman, and Wyldstyle. Those who already own the Starter Pack and want Supergirl will have to purchase the pack again. I love Supergirl, but not enough to spend another $60+.
Kotaku reached out to WB Interactive Entertainment regarding Supergirl’s availability, and it sounds like the only other way to play with Supergirl outside of buying the game again is to “rent” her in the game to try her out.
Next year, Supergirl will be available as a “Hire-a-Hero,” a feature in LEGO Dimensions that allows players to sample characters using studs collected in the game. Players can select the hologram minifigures near certain keystones to unlock characters for a limited time to try out their special abilities to solve problems and complete puzzles.
Supergirl will land in LEGO Dimensions Starter Packs beginning this September.
