Resident Evil Animated Film & Monster Hunter Movie in Production, Capcom Reveals

Announced at Tokyo Game Show 2016, Capcom revealed that both a Resident Evil animated movie and a Monster Hunter film are in production. Though the computer generated Resident Evil: Vendetta flick will have an original story, producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi stated that it “will be like Resident Evil 1.” So both original and nostalgic, perhaps? Joining Kobayashi in helping to create Vendetta is Takashi Shimizu (director of The Grudge), and Takanori Tsuimoto.

On the Monster Hunter side of things, producer Ryozo Tsujimoto took to the Monster Hunter Stories TGS 2016 stage saying, “While it isn’t related to Stories, there is a Hollywood movie adaptation of the main series in progress.” He then dropped the mic in epic fashion, before diving into the crowd. At least, that’s how I imagine it went.

There’s no information on either of these movies releasing outside of Japan, but don’t let that quell your excitement just yet. Let us know if you’d watch either of these on the big screen!
