Star Wars Battlefront Gets Rogue One: Scarif DLC, PSVR Mission on December 6

Celebrating Star Wars Battlefront’s first birthday today, EA and DICE announced that the Rogue One: Scarif expansion and Rogue One: X-Wing VR Mission are both releasing on December 6 for PlayStation 4.

Starting with Rogue One: Scarif, which will be available for Season Pass owners on December 6 and everyone else on December 20, it includes two new playable heroes (Jyn Erso and Orson Krennic), a new multi-stage game mode with space and ground combat, and four new maps.

EA says, “In Rogue One: Scarif you’ll battle across four new maps, including the sandy beaches of Scarif – an all-new tropical planet crawling with Imperials – which should look mighty familiar to anyone who saw the movie trailer. Know that incredible scene in the trailer where the AT-ACT is marching through the waves? That’s the one!”

Looking at the Rogue One: X-Wing VR Mission DLC, it will be available for free on December 6 to all Star Wars Battlefront owners and requires PlayStation VR. The description adds, “This free DLC gives you control of your very own X-wing in fully immersive virtual reality – brush up on your piloting skills, stay on target, and prepare to jump through hyperspace as you carry out an important mission for the Rebellion.”

Ahead of all the new content in December, you’ll find a 4X Score Weekend from November 17 to 20, as well as free access to all of the maps and modes from all three previous expansions (Outer Rim, Bespin, Death Star) until November 20.

Including access to the game and all four expansions, the Star Wars Battlefront Ultimate Edition is now available:

A sequel to Star Wars Battlefront is scheduled for release in 2017.
