Beginning at 10am PT/1pm ET today, January 27, Activision will be activating Double XP in both Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered.
With Infinite Warfare, you’ll find Double XP and Double Weapon XP from January 27 at 10am PT until February 3 at 10am PT in both Multiplayer and Zombies. With Modern Warfare Remastered, the Double XP runs from January 27 at 10am PT until January 30 at 10am PT.
The week-long Double XP in Infinite Warfare coincides with the launch of the new Sabotage DLC pack on January 31 for PlayStation 4. One of the four maps you’ll find is Dominion, a re-imagining of Modern Warfare 2’s Afghan map. You can see it in action in this new video from Access PlayStation:
In the next Modern Warfare Remastered update (date TBA), Raven Software is planning to fix weapon streaming bugs that are causing the missing kill cameras and invisible weapons, add spawning improvements, update sniper collateral damage, and fix the bug causing the clan tags to reset.
Treyarch isn’t expected to launch their next Call of Duty game until 2018, but that didn’t stop Studio Design Director David Vonderhaar from sending out this teaser about the development process:
Now comes the hardest part of making CoD games. What things can we push on a little bit, that would normally be sacred or off-limits.
What game system(s) are we willing to tear apart or do away with entirely ^for a little bit.
It’s really fun to think about these things. It’s also scary. Have a lot going through my head.
