Final Fantasy Creator Hironobu Sakaguchi Will Announce His New Game on June 22

Legendary developer Hironobu Sakaguchi, who created the Final Fantasy series, will be announcing his new game on Thursday, June 22. The unveiling will take place during a Famitsu Niconico livestream at 20.00 JST so fans might want to tune in to catch a glimpse. Alternatively, we’ll share all relevant announcements here so you can check back later.

Final Fantasy composer Nobuo Uematsu will also be present at the event as a guest so it’s quite possible that he’ll be collaborating.

Sakaguchi joined what is now Square Enix back in the late 80s and continued to serve the company until 2004 when he founded his own studio called Mistwalker. The developer was behind 2006’s Xbox 360 game Blue Dragon and 2007’s Lost Odyssey. From the teasers that Mistwalker released recently, it’s unclear what platform(s) the game will be headed to but we’ll update our readers when we have more info. In the meantime, you can check the teasers out below.

Any guesses?
