Today the first member of Injustice 2‘s second pack of DLC fighters will be released. Black Manta will release today for NetherRealm’s fighting game, ahead of the other two announced DLC characters: Mortal Kombat‘s Raiden, and Hellboy. He may be the smallest name of the trio, but Black Manta looks like a lot of fun to play as judging by his introduction trailer.

Today Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment revealed gameplay for Black Manta in Injustice 2, the first Fighter Pack 2 character who will join the Injustice 2 roster on September 12. Archnemesis to Aquaman and sworn enemy of the sea, Black Manta proves that his brilliant intellect, armored battle suit, energy beams and array of powerful weapons are more than enough to make him a worthy opponent for the king of Atlantis, as well as the other Injustice 2 Super Heroes and Super-Villains.

Injustice 2 may have the best single-player campaign of any fighting game. NetherRealm has hit a solid groove with their fighting games. A few new blocking mechanics help to add a touch more balance to the game’s environmental damage options, and the loot system is second to none. Microtransactions are always a tricky issue with any game, but by sticking to cosmetic items, purchases using additional cash aren’t necessary in order to get full enjoyment out of the game. Fighting game and DC fans alike should add this game to their collection as soon as possible.
