Devil May Cry Series Director Apologizes for Lack of TGS Announcements, Teases Next Project

Devil May Cry series director Hideaki Itsuno just gave an update to fans on when they can expect to see his next project, which is rumored to be Devil May Cry 5. Itsuno took to Twitter with a message to his loyal followers. “Sorry to not announce anything at [Tokyo Game Show 2017],” wrote the Devil May Cry 2 through 4 director. “Please wait as my project is progressing smoothly.”

If you are feeling a sense of déjà vu, it’s because Itsuno tweeted out something nearly identical after E3 2017. Back in June, Itsuno had this to say to fans. “Sorry to not announce anything at E3. Please wait as my project is progressing smoothly.” At the very least, it’s good that the project is still going smoothly.

Since his project hasn’t been announced yet, it’s possible we’ll see it at one of Sony’s two other major press conferences for the year. They have the upcoming Paris Games Week 2017 conference in October, and then their annual PlayStation Experience conference in December. Both stages would seem fitting for the announcement of Devil May Cry 5, or potentially another project from the mind that brought gamers Dragon’s Dogma. Either way, it looks like gamers will have to be patient as Hideaki Itsuno and his team at Capcom continue to work on their next game.

What would you like to see next from Devil May Cry and Dragon’s Dogma director Hideaki Itsuno? Let us know in the comments if you would like to see Devil May Cry 5, a possible sequel to Dragon’s Dogma, or something entirely new from the talented director!
