PSLS Help Desk – PS4 Error Code NW-31201-7 Fix

If you’re getting PS4 Error Code NW-31201-7, it means that you can’t connect to the network, which is kind of important in an age of digital titles and online connected games. There are some simple solutions here, as the problem isn’t a complicated one.

PS4 Error Code NW-31201-7 Fix

Check the Status of the PSN

The first thing to do is to check the status of the PSN on PlayStation’s website. If it says PSN down, your console may be throwing the above error code in response. You’ll have to wait until the PSN servers are back online to reconnect. If everything is in the green, then move on to the next option.

Run a Connection Test

On your PS4, go to [Settings] > [Network] > [Test Internet Connection] to have your PS4 test your internet connection (surprise!). Whether or not there are problems here will help to tell you where the issue may lie. At this point, the problem is probably external, so it’s time to check your internet connection.

Check Your Internet Connection

Basically you’ll be moving backwards, tracing things out of your PS4. Is your PS4 hardwired? Check the cable. Wi-fi? Check the login and password, and your router. Reset your router by powering it down and powering it back on again. If that still fails to solve the problem, reset your modem by powering it off and back on again. Test other devices on your network to ensure that your network is functional. The error can also be caused by network stress, so if possible, try disconnecting other computers and devices on the network and try your PS4 again.

If none of these solutions work, it may simply be a high volume issue on the PSN, so you’ll have to wait and try again later when the traffic has died down.
