Third Episode of God of War Podcast Explores Norse Mythology

Earlier today, Sony launched a brand new video on the upcoming God of War, telling the story of one of the greatest builders Norse mythology had ever known.

The video (above) tells the tale of Thamur, a stone mason who tried to build a wall around Jotenheim, the realm of the giants, in an effort to keep out Thor. Thamur enlisted the help of his son Harinthur, but the two quickly drifted apart and came to blows before the wall was built.

Harinthur ran off into the night and Thamur gave chase, only to run into Thor and fall to the God of Thunder. Thamur landed on top of a village and released a great blast of cold energy, covering the land in ice and snow.

The character reveal is another entry in the “Lost Pages of Norse Myth” series that Sony introduced last month in order to introduce players to the new world of Norse mythology that players will encounter when God of War launches next year. The videos are accompanied by podcasts that delve more into the characters that they reveal, and this one is no different. You can listen a brief snippet of the third episode of the podcast, where the team goes a bit more in depth on the story of Thamur and its role in ancient Norse mythology, below:

God of War is currently slated for released sometime in early 2018 for the PlayStation 4.
