Golbez Confirmed as Playable in Dissdia Final Fantasy NT
In a new trailer released today, Square Enix revealed that the latest character for the arcade version of Dissidia Final Fantasy is the Man in Black himself, Golbez.
The infamous antagonist from Final Fantasy IV, Golbez looks like he’ll be bringing his dark magic skillset to the fighting genre, as the trailer (above) showcases some of his powerful sorcery at work. Golbez was one of the original Warriors of Chaos for the PSP version of Dissidia and looks to be making his triumphant return now.
Judging from the trailer, the only update to the character seems to be his weird dragon-like accomplice that he uses to attack. In the same update that brings Golbez with it, Dissidia Final Fantasy will be getting Final Fantasy XI’s Stellar Fulcrum as a playable stage. As far as fighting stages go, it looks pretty nice, with tons of different environments and areas for players to fight in. You can check out the full trailer for that below:
For now, Golbez has only been announced for the arcade version of Dissidia, but with the announced port for the PlayStation 4 coming at the end of January, it wouldn’t be surprising to see all of the arcade characters eventually make their way onto the console.
Dissidia Final Fantasy NT releases in January 30, 2018 for PlayStation 4.
Let us know in the comment section below what you think about Golbez making his return to Dissidia Final Fantasy. Are you excited about his return or would you like to see other characters who haven’t been in the game before?
