Avalanche Studios has announced today that Robert Henrysson has joined the company as its newest Chairman of the Board. Henrysson, who co-founded the mobile and multiplayer gaming company Jadestone, has a background in gaming, entertainment and commerce. According to the announcement, Henrysson will support Avalanche Studios as it grows its self-publishing business.
“2017 has been a great year for us,” said Pim Holfve, CEO of Avalanche Studios. “We launched theHunter: Call of the Wild for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation®4, and it has since far exceeded our expectations. The US and European hunting communities continue to support our realistic and ethical approach to the genre, and this time we’ve also reached a massive new player base in China.”
Avalanche Studio has been around for some time, having created the Just Cause franchise and alsop developing the recent Mad Max game, and a known presence in the publisher-backed AAA space for over a decade. With Henrysson’s experience in the gaming world, the company hopes this addition will only help bolster the company and continue to grow it in a positive direction.
“Avalanche Studios is one of the most consistently creative and successful companies in the industry,” commented Robert Henrysson. “Their passion for making great games, their technical foundation, their talent and company culture are all best in class. With the success of both recent AAA-titles and the “theHunter” franchise, I’m thrilled to be brought on board. I will work to help Avalanche Studios establish an even stronger publishing business, including the development and publishing of brand new intellectual properties.”
