Devil May Cry 5 update

Report: Devil May Cry V To Be PS4 Console Exclusive, Coming to PC Later

This past weekend, a source over on ResetEra leaked a ton of details regarding Devil May Cry 5, allegedly known as Devil May Cry V. The leak alleges that Devil May Cry V will be announced at E3 2018 after being delayed from a PSX 2017 announcement. It also has numerous story and gameplay details on the next title in the Devil May Cry franchise. At this time, all of these details are still unconfirmed, but the person who posted the information has updated some of their information.

The original post hinted at some kind of PlayStation exclusivity, but was unclear on the details. “There is some form of Playstation exclusivity involved. Sony is paying for some of the funding for the game but the extent of it is not known. Could be completely PS4 exclusive, console exclusive or timed exclusive. If the game is announced publicly then it will be at a Sony event, which is why many people thought that it was going to be at PSX.”

ResetEra user Son of Sparda has since updated his post to say that it will likely be a console exclusive on PS4, with a later release on the PC. To quote the update, they say it is “highly unlikely to be on any other platform,” so it remains unconfirmed at this time. A lot can change before release, and we’ll have to wait for an official announcement before knowing for sure which platforms Devil May Cry V will be on. At the very least, it seems that PlayStation users will be playing the game if these reports come true.

One additional update made to the leak is that Devil May Cry V is being built in Unreal Engine 4. Taken into account with the other details about gameplay mechanics and the world, this should come as no surprise. Unreal Engine 4 is Epic Games’ extremely popular engine that has been used for many popular games.

What do you think of this latest twist in the Devil May Cry V leaks? Should Capcom keep it exclusive to PS4 or open up release to other consoles as well? Sound off with a stylish combo in the comments below.
