As we know, Sony announced that not only has the company reached a lifetime milestone of 500 million PlayStation consoles sold, but a new, limited edition version of the PlayStation 4 Pro is being released to commemorate the occasion. Various retailers have been confirmed as sellers for the console (and relevant accessories), including Amazon and Best Buy. Per a press release that was sent out today, GameStop has confirmed it is also selling a small number of 500 Million PS4 Pros, and they go on sale this coming Thursday night (August 23, 2018).
The console itself is a $499.99 2 TB PlayStation 4 Pro, with a translucent, dark blue shell and a copper finish for all the text and branding. The included DualShock 4 controller, PlayStation Camera, Vertical Stand, and mono headset are all colored similarly to match the theme. The DualShock 4 controller will also be sold separately, as well as a 500 Million Limited Edition Gold Wireless Headset.
Here’s a statement from GameStop’s Eric Bright, included in the release:
Sony has been a wonderful partner to GameStop for decades. We’re excited to see them hit this incredible milestone, and we’re thrilled to offer gamers the 500 Million Limited Edition PS4 Pro.
